The “Hong Kong Design on Stage” showcase pavilion, designed by the creative team at LAAB, follows a circular concept symbolizing unity and harmony. It highlights talented designers while also sparking conversations about conscious living.
The eco-bricks used for the structure are made from recycled PET bottles collected at schools across Hong Kong. Lightweight, stackable, and transportable, they help reduce CO₂ emissions during transportation.
Inspired by Victoria Harbour, the pavilion’s wave-like circular design reflects Hong Kong’s natural heritage. Its 15 turquoise tones capture the harbor’s ever-changing colors, while staggered bricks allow light to filter through, creating dynamic, wave-like shadows.
