ABB have launched a series of co-creation workshops for their customers. The ABB AbilityTM Customer Experience Centers, (ACE) were created at their Ladenburg site, and at the global customer conference in Houston. Following an intense period of drawing and discussion, our team developed, built, and installed the elements of the centres. The design and digital content for the ACE comes from the New York studio Local Projects. The heart of the exhibits is certainly the Disruptor Table: here, 84 monitors were installed on the surface of a table tennis table. These can move up and down hydraulically in a spectacular wave formation, whilst being controlled digitally. "It was particularly challenging, but at the same time exciting to bring the exhibits from drawing to reality in such a short time," says project manager Heinz Auer.
Located in the heart of Europe on the bank of Lake Constance and surrounded by an impressive mountain landscape, the Bregenz Festival has offered a special combination of nature and culture since its opening year in 1946. Superlatives are found at every turn, such as the globally unique size of the lake stage with its approximately 7,000 seats and high-end stage technology. We acted as general contractor for one of the kinetic set design pieces for the production of ‚Rigoletto‘. The unique element «Hand Lindau» could be precisely controlled and moved, almost becoming another character on stage and much more than a decorative piece to be performed upon. Our responsibility was not only to make sure all movements could be controlled and executed as desired by the dramaturgy of the production, but to also guarantee construction in a very limited space as well as health & safety for all of the performers on the hand itself. Our extensive experience as a trade show exhibit company and extraordinary exhibition booth builders enabled us to master this transition into stage design successfully.
We construct unique experience worlds for the galas of IWC Schaffhausen at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in order to launch their new annual collections. Expomobilia realizes all scenery and grandstand constructions, booth designs, signage and textile work.
In 2019, IWC Schaffhausen celebrated the launch of its new pilot watches. According to the motto «Silver Spitfire – The Longest Flight», Expomobilia utilized its knowledge of trade show construction in order to temporarily transform the location into a stylish ambience for an exclusive gala evening boasting a hangar look. The bar, carrier arches, DJ desk, hangar gate, grandstand, floor signage and the interactive Photo Booth were all produced in-house by Expomobilia. Similar to our work on small exhibition stands, our team also carried out all print & plot work.
Expomobilia was commissioned by BMW (Schweiz) AG to create a small exhibition stand with an internationally unique kinetic installation, which has become an eye-catcher at the BMW Brand Experience Center in Dielsdorf (CH). The biggest challenge was the detailed implementation of the booth design by Luxoom Medienprojekte GmbH. Numerous movable elements, motors and the control system had to be assembled by our exhibition booth builders with extreme precision within a very limited amount of space. As a pioneering exhibition booth company, Expomobilia could utilize motors and units that would otherwise be used in space travel. The 'Pixel Curtain', with a total of 36 pixels, is controlled by sophisticated software using hand signals. The development of this system took several months. Mechatronics, software and hardware were developed, manufactured and the trade show construction completed by Expomobilia as general contractor.
Our Pop Up – Store booth design for Breitling, legendary luxury watchmaker since 1884 and inventor of the chronograph wristwatch, is touring Europe with stops at Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam and Zurich. The urban loft feel has already become an essential element of Breitling’s international flagship stores. This modern interpretation of mid-twentieth century industrial buildings recalls the period when Breitling created some of the most admired tool watches ever made. The unique small exhibition stand creates the opportunity to present their luxurious watches at any chosen location in the same stylish retro ambience. Size and interior fittings of the exhibition booth can be adapted individually.
In addition, Expomobilia carried out a number of special tasks, such as providing the four foundations for the industry robots that formed part of a spectacular stage show.
Similar to our work on temporary trade show exhibits, the total area covered by the structures was more than 4000 m2 and took only 17 days to erect. All of these preparations and our vast experience as a tradeshow exhibit company resulted in a successful event that fulfilled the end customer’s wishes and complied with the client’s specifications.
