Where something exceptional occurs, the everyday ends. Events are unique experiences that leave behind a lasting and emotional impression created through expert management of the available space. Whether it’s an employee event or a VIP party, a promotion, a roadshow, a congress or a press conference, our Event Construction Department will have it completely covered – the exact implementation of an event design, from planning through to completion.
The Masterpiece London art fair expanded to Hong Kong this October. As part of the renowned "Fine Art Asia" fair, Masterpiece erected its own pavilion for the first time. There, 35 exceptional works of art were exhibited, ranging from antiques to contemporary, from paintings to furniture as well as jewellery. The Masterpiece Pavilion was met with great interest from the Asian art scene and was well attended.
The Expomobilia team in Hong Kong completed the expansion of The Masterpiece Pavilion and created a set up for the works of art to shine. The Expomobilia team also created and constructed the public areas and sponsors' lounge. The challenge was to put the sponsors in the right light alongside the remarkable art objects and to give them an authentic yet integrated appearance in the art exhibition.
Located in the heart of Europe on the bank of Lake Constance and surrounded by an impressive mountain landscape, the Bregenz Festival has offered a special combination of nature and culture since its opening year in 1946. Superlatives are found at every turn, such as the globally unique size of the lake stage with its approximately 7,000 seats and high-end stage technology. We acted as general contractor for one of the kinetic set design pieces for the production of ‚Rigoletto‘. The unique element «Hand Lindau» could be precisely controlled and moved, almost becoming another character on stage and much more than a decorative piece to be performed upon. Our responsibility was not only to make sure all movements could be controlled and executed as desired by the dramaturgy of the production, but to also guarantee construction in a very limited space as well as health & safety for all of the performers on the hand itself.
We construct unique experience worlds for the galas of IWC Schaffhausen at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in order to launch their new annual collections. Expomobilia realises all scenery and grandstand constructions, signage and textile work.
In 2019, IWC Schaffhausen celebrated the launch of its new pilot watches. According to the motto «Silver Spitfire – The Longest Flight», Expomobilia transformed the location into a stylish evening ambience for an exclusive gala evening boasting a hangar look. The bar, carrier arches, DJ desk, hangar gate, grandstand, floor signage and the interactive Photo Booth were all produced in-house by Expomobilia. All graphic design work was carried out by our own team as well.
Expomobilia was commissioned by BMW (Schweiz) AG to create an internationally unique kinetic installation, which has become an eye-catcher at the BMW Brand Experience Center in Dielsdorf (CH). The biggest challenge was the detailed implementation of the concept by Luxoom Medienprojekte GmbH. Numerous movable elements, motors and the control system had to be built with extreme precision within a very limited amount of space. Expomobilia utilized motors and units that would otherwise be used in space travel. The 'Pixel Curtain', with a total of 36 pixels, is controlled by sophisticated software using hand signals. The development of this system took several months. Mechatronics, software and hardware were developed, manufactured and installed by Expomobilia as general contractor.
“Prison” (French for jail), the traveling exhibition has been commissioned by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum, the Confluence Museum in Lyon and the German Hygiene Museum in Dresden. It is currently being showcased at the Red Cross Museum in Geneva until August 2019. With its forward, unconventional and avant-garde design, the exhibition looks at the subject of incarceration from all angles- from imprisonment and exclusion to detention conditions, social reintegration and restorative justice.
Expomobilia managed the overall in-house production of fittings, graphics as well as the printing, delivery and installation of this travelling exhibit. The modular room and wall elements of the installation offer high levels of flexibility, hence enabling the mobility and versatility that are crucial whilst executing a roadshow. All of the elements have been specifically designed and entirely manufactured in-house by Expomobilia as compact units, that can easily be installed and delivered to diverse locations.
“The Fairy Tale Factory” exhibition, commissioned by the Ethnographic museum in Geneva (MEG), opened to the public in May 2019. The MEG highlights traditional stories with this exhibition. Eight tales, little or unknown to the general public, are staged in "Theaters of the Imagination". Magic lanterns, dioramas, mirrors, optical illusions and changes of scale allow to immerse oneself in the history and to free oneself from the rules of the real world.
Expomobilia constructed the exhibition walls, produced the interior fittings of the theme rooms and the showcase enclosures. We collaborated with Holzer and Kobler Architects, implementing their concept and set design for bringing the unique versions of traditional fairy tales to life.
Our Pop Up – Store for Breitling, legendary luxury watchmaker since 1884 and inventor of the chronograph wrist watch, is touring Europe with stops at Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam and Zurich. The urban loft feel has already become an essential element of Breitling’s international flagship stores. This modern interpretation of mid-twentieth century industrial buildings recalls the period when Breitling created some of the most admired tool watches ever made. The unique Pop Up – Store creates the opportunity to present their luxurious watches at any chosen location in the same stylish retro ambience. Size and interior fittings can be adapted individually.
During the winter season of 2019 BMW Group Switzerland offered the opportunity to test your driving skills in the challenging weather conditions. In the winter wonderland of the ‘Flüela’ mountain pass near Davos (CH), the participants were able to try out the remarkable driving characteristics of the BMW fleet. Expomobilia developed the concept and implemented furnishing and the entire interior design covered by two 100m2 tents. We designed a new suspension construction especially for BMW for the required mounting of aluminium pictures and antique wooden frames.
In addition, Expomobilia carried out a number of special tasks, such as providing the four foundations for the industry robots that formed part of a spectacular stage show.
The total area covered by the structure was more than 4000 m2 and it took 17 days to erect. All of these preparations resulted in a successful event that fulfilled the end customer’s wishes and complied with the client’s specifications.
