Turning a large trade fair stand of TRUMPF's parent company in Germany into a stand design with dimensions reduced by about 102 cm for the trade fair display in Switzerland – this was the task assigned to Expomobilia.
An open design of exhibition stand that is really accessible for customers In accordance with the "Get connected" trade fair motto and the plans of TRUMPF's parent company, the stand was deliberately built in an open-plan design so as to create lots of space for interactions with customers. This is because TRUMPF uses sample parts to demonstrate specific solutions in line with customers' wishes for each respective situation. The consistent brand promotion throughout the trade fair also included the logo being visible from anywhere in the exhibition hall and all the main wall surfaces displaying TRUMPF wall graphics.
Expomobilia's production department in Effretikon manufactured all the furniture in line with the German functionality requirements for the visuals at the Swiss trade fair, and it also stores it between trade fairs. The fact that the TRUMPF Schweiz AG trade fair stand had to be about 102 cm smaller in all dimensions than the one in Germany was a challenge – but thanks to our excellent working relationship with TRUMPF we came up with a great solution. Or to put it in the words of Natascha Brügger, Trumpf's Marketing and Communications Manager: "There's an art to bringing together TRUMPF emotions and skills in a small space".
At this year’s Auto Expo from February 8th to 11th, 2018 in New Delhi, Renault presented the newest drafts out of the Renault India Design Academy from Chennai and Mumbai. Four young designers were trained for seven months and exhibited their models at the Auto Expo. The talented automotive designers were recruited exclusively through Renault's social media channels. Renault won the Best Pavilion Car Award from the CNC Auto Expo Awards for Excellence 2018 for its dynamic and modern booth concept, which included a VR experience and bump design. The jury was clearly impressed by the concept car, which was produced entirely in the Indian design centre. The Trezor concept for the electrical GT car series also impressed with its inviting style and unforgettable driving fun. The inspiring bump design, honoured with the Red Dot Award in 2013, transmitted the feeling of movement to users in an impressive way. This design with curved floor surface and dynamic lighting concept was used for the last time at this year’s Auto Expo.

In the past “Badenfahrt” referred to the journey to the spa resort of Baden to take the waters. It is now the name of a festival held in the town every ten years which has around one million visitors who come to enjoy the party atmosphere and the hospitality. Expomobilia impressed the organisers of Badenfahrt with its VIP platform concept. Old shipping containers were repurposed to create a bar and storage area and, at the same time, to help support the platform itself. When combined with the supporting framework, the result was an attractive urban structure that fitted in perfectly against the varied artistic backdrop of the Badenfahrt event.

Halle 622 in Zurich’s Oerlikon district was built by ABB Switzerland and until 2012 served as a production facility for high voltage apparatus. Following their conversion in autumn 2016, this collection of former industrial buildings were reopened in February 2017 and run by MAAG Music & Arts AG as a multifunctional event and concert location. As General Contractor, Expomobilia was responsible for managing the entire project, including the detailed planning, feasibility studies, construction and onsite assembly.
The crane rails, ventilation ducts, offices, partition walls and production machinery were removed from the old industrial buildings so that new heating, ventilation, fire prevention and drain systems could be installed.
The building has been left in its original form and a shell or box made from wood has been constructed inside. The wooden box (13 metres high, 23 metres wide and 70 metres long), consisting of pillars and beams made from glued laminated wood that have been filled in with multi-layer wooden wall panels, performs a decorative function and provides sound insulation. The box-in-box concept combines multi-functionality and character. Many parts of the building have been deliberately left in industrial chic style. One special feature is the gallery on the top floor. It has 312 seats on a telescopic stage and can be retracted when it is not needed. Containers are used to house the sanitary facilities and the catering and backstage areas, which are temporary and can easily be moved, just like the entire location.
With a total area of 4200 square meters, Halle 622 is the perfect venue for fairs, exhibitions, conferences, AGMs, gala dinners, corporate events, shows and concerts. Its capacity of up to 1500 people for business events and seating capacity of 3500 for concerts, etc. make Halle 622 ideal for almost any kind of function. A further advantage for this new event venue is its central location right next to the station in Zurich Oerlikon, which gives it excellent links to public transport, as well as plenty of parking options and hotels nearby.

In its new VIP Lounge, Swiss cigar producer Oettinger Davidoff AG is presenting the Davidoff Art Initiative and the company's products at the Art Basel shows. To create the appropriate atmosphere, the traditional techniques of tobacco-growing and cigar production have been visually incorporated into the lounge created by exhibition-stand builders, Expomobilia. The Caribbean feels particularly close here. The newly designed lounge was set up for the first time in the Collectors' Lounge at Art Basel in Hong Kong and was used again in 2016, at Art Basel in Basel. It is also being shipped to Florida for the Miami Beach show in December. Designed by the celebrated Atelier Oï of La Neuveville in Switzerland, the lounge was built by exhibition stand builders Expomobilia of Effretikon. For further information, go to: MCH Group Blog
The MCH Group is celebrating its 100th birthday in 2016. It was in 1916, with the first “Samples Fair”, that the foundation stone was laid for the successful international group of companies that we are today.
Highlight of this anniversary year: the employees’ anniversary celebration at the Event Hall in Basel This colorful and eventful party on 9 September featured rapper Knackeboul, who MC’d the evening, the show acts Traktorkestar, Stickstoff and the rapper FABE, aka Kevin Messerli (with Stephanie), and DJ LukJLite. And of course we shouldn’t forget to mention the happy winners of the great MCH Challenge, who were presented their awards by René Kamm himself.
That this was a really special evening was down to the perfect organization, so our grateful thanks to everyone at MCH Group, Rufener, Winkler and Expomobilia who helped bring it about!
